Christine Bleakley is so hot…….
I even watched ‘strictly come dancing’ because of her…….
Ouch….!!!
i wonder if this guy (hugo montgomery-swan) works for the bbc?
he looks the type.
i have seen him a number of time doing this wholesome-jw-family-act courtesy of my liscence fee!.

we all love it when people pay attention to us or our opinions.
but what i am talking about is people who crave and force attention from others.
not just people who talk a lot, but those that force everyone around them to focus on them and them only.. in one of my classes there is a woman who raises her hand to ask a question, but never really has a question to ask.
I'll be honest most pro-witnesses are put off by this site simply because you have to deal with constant personal attacks outside of your viewpoints.
I’m afraid that I will have to agree with this statement of Reniaa’s. I have seen on many occasions some pro JW will come on the site and end up with a personal attack because of their views and are treated with contempt.
I think that it is a shame because debate is ended at that point, and it is always good to get alternative view points, even if they clash with our own, because then both sides of the argument can be read which will assist lurkers to weigh up the truth in each argument. When it results in personal insults it always detracts from what that person is saying, taking away from their argument even if they do have the right perspective.
Although saying that, sometimes a pro JW will come on here with an attitude which will just antagonise people who have been hurt by the WT, but I think that even then people on here should be the bigger person in such a debate. I think the most effective way is to give the pro JW enough rope to hang themselves and then leave it for all to read. You can never force an opinion on someone who is deliberately in denial, and doing such is futile and distracting from the persons own argument no matter how correct their thinking is. This then goes onto fulfil the need of attention in some because it provokes a reaction which they thrive on.

Awe….. I feel a right party pooper now……
But this might just be the answer of stopping ‘attention seekers’……
The way to deal with people who seek attention is to work out why they do so. Reniaa for example needs to take on the apostate world and prove it wrong because she can’t get her head around the fact that she is going to die forever. She was never comfortable with that concept when she was out and just couldn’t take it as a reality. She then focused on a belief she once had and went out to prove it true because it held out the hope that she doesn’t have to die forever. So the harder she proves it (in her own mind) the more she doesn’t have to face the reality of her own mortality. So she will thrive on the attention she is given because it is reinforcing her belief to herself. So the more she is resisted the better and the more proof she will think she has.
I must say for the record though that I think that the attention she gets on this site is invaluable and should be encouraged, because of the amount of people she draws out who wish to argue with her. We have a real live JW (or nearly) on the site and I think she is a valuable asset personally and would hate to see her stifled.

I gave her 5 minutes, and then I said, "Well, I have to go, thank you for the chat" and I walked away.
So, my way is usually to give the person the benefit of the doubt at first. I talk a lot myself anyway, so I try to be cool. But when it becomes obvious that their motive is only to take up others' time, then I give them a minute or two, and then I say thanks and walk away no matter if they keep talking. If someone phones me like that, I talk for a couple of minutes, then I say goodbye and hang up.
Okay...... Reniaa has now had over an hours attention on this thread. So has everyone on here got the ability to not answer or reply to her, taking away the attention that she craves….???
This will be interesting……
well after 2 weeks in and out of labor, my daughter had my very first grandchild at 7 this morning.... .
she was 9 lbs 2 oz....and 22 inches long...... .
that's a lot of baby to push out..... .
That’s great news............ Grandma……..!!!
i don't feel i have to know the truth about how life started or where we're coming from etc, but can't help thinking abt it anyway now and then.
guess it's only natural.. right now i feel really clueless and that i have too little knowledge abt the darwin, big bang theory.... (i was always taught by the dubs that darwin questioned his own theory...but was it really so?)..
i have a close friend who's sure of the evolution but can really the complex and wonderful life and nature come abt by chance (even though he says it's not chance...).
Creation or evolution…….??? Who knows…….??
I’d go for procreation personally, because if you have enough of that in theory and practice you really wouldn’t care less about all the other stuff…..
quite a few years back i had various pioneer friends who were asked to give experiences at the circuit conventions.. they were to write up there experience first give it to the elder and they would go over it.. however, when it came time for this the elder who was giving the part decided to change their experience and it did not.
and was not even truthful now, it was not how it happened.
my one friend in particular was very upset about this because.
WHAT…..!!!! You mean that the stories at the conventions are not true..???? I don’t believe it….!!!!
Next you’ll be saying that the stories in the back of ‘Playboy Magazine’ aren’t true either……..
i was that one way to increase my field service time for me and my wife was by standing at a truck stop and hand out tapes to truckers in the early mornings.
this is the same lot that is frequented by drug dealers and hookers.
another time, while studying, i said i did not understand the blood issue.
“If you have questions, then put them on the back burner. Jehovah will answer them in time. Just concentrate on doing his will.”
I went back to the meetings with the questions that would finally take me out of the 'truth'. The ‘Generation that will by no means pass away’ was one of the first things I enquired about (being that I was in when I was younger and went back when 21), the validity of their interpretation of Daniel, 1290 days, 1335 days, Cedar Point Ohio, the 2300 evenings and mornings, 1975, Beth-sarim.
I wasn’t a usual study by any means, but I knew about these things before I went back, but followed the advice given me to put them all on the back burner. How foolish I was…..
i bumped into this reaction (nearly called it a problem) when i was a jw.
being that single sisters were out of bounds to chat to (unless you were thinking of marrying them), i thought that it was a safe(er) option to chat to married sisters.
i reasoned that they would have been happy in their marriage so chatting to them wouldnt be such a problem.

The problem is (and this is not said as any kind of brag) that I show a lot of understanding in my conversation. This provoked an emotional reaction and went onto cause problems in the friendship and would usually end them. I was totally perplexed until a close (female) friend of mine took me to one side and said accusingly “it’s your fault, you’re just too understanding…!!”.
I was only young and just enjoyed female company, and didn’t understand what I was doing. I do understand it a little more now but the reaction still perplexes me somewhat. I can’t talk for all men, but from a mans perspective, if I am understood, I just get the feeling of relief that someone knows what I am going through. A deep sigh and that is that. But despite asking numerous women I am friends with, I still don’t know the mechanics of why understanding causes such a huge emotional reaction.
So is there a way of explaining it……???
being in the organisation for most of my life i have seen so many people suffering with depression.
but a friend of mine recently said that it was impossible for them to suffer from the condition, because of the mental strategies they have in place to cope with hard times, and a mental resilience that they attained from a balanced stable upbringing..... .
could it be true that some people have a natural immunity to such a debilitating mental condition....???.
